👩‍🍳 Sahana the Cook

Sahana was super energetic and loved to cook and bake. She loved spending time with her parents, her friends, and trying new things. One week, Ms. Banerjee, her second grade teacher, brought exciting news: "Next Friday, we're going to make a big batch of friendship snacks! We'll cook together, learn about healthy foods, and share treats with everyone in our class."

Sahana was so excited she couldn't contain herself and yelled "Omg — Yay!" The whole class looked at her and she cowered in shyness. She had never helped cook much before, but she liked stories about chefs and dreamt of wearing a tall white hat.

The next day, her classmates gathered to plan their special menu. Aryan wanted spicy masala corn, Anika suggested fruit kabobs, and Vinay wanted to bake cheesy breadsticks. Sahana's group included kids who felt nervous in the kitchen or weren't sure what to do.

So Sahana took the lead and said "No worries! We can all help. Some can wash, some can chop, some can mix!" She loved thinking of ways for everyone to join in.

On Cooking Day, Ms. Banerjee set up big tables in the classroom. Sahana passed out aprons and helped Vinay measure flour. She showed Aryan how to carefully use the salad tongs, and encouraged Mili, who was sure she'd spill the milk. "It's okay to make a mess," Sahana laughed. "That's how you learn!"

As they cooked, the class filled with delicious smells — sweet mango, warm bread, and buttery popcorn. Sahana made up a new friendship cheer: "Mix it, mash it, share it around, together in the kitchen, joy is found!"

When Aryan accidentally dropped a bowl of fruit, Sahana rushed to help clean up, telling him, "Happens to everyone!" When Ira felt lost staring at the directions, Sahana said, "Let's read together — step by step!" Soon, everyone was working as a team, tasting and laughing.

At lunchtime, the class gathered to share their snacks. Parents came and cheered, each student beaming with pride. Ms. Banerjee said, "What a feast! You made more than food; you made each other feel welcome, important, and brave."

Walking home that day, Sahana felt her heart grow. She had never cooked so much before, but working with her friends — and helping them — made her feel like a true chef and a great teammate.

🌟 Moral of the StoryTrying new things with kindness and teamwork makes every project more fun. When you help others and include everyone, you create wonderful memories — not just good food!
